The Thrive by Five Index Report provides a high-level outline of the key findings of the Thrive by Five Index Report, based on data recorded in 2021.
The Report provides an outline of the background to the Index, the Methodology of the data collection and analysis, as well as the findings at a national and provincial level across the main three categories: Learning, Physical Growth, and Social-Emotional Functioning.
Unlocking Data for Change
To encourage broad engagement and ensure the data drives real change, the full 2024 Index dataset will be made open access by the end of 2025. This means policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and communities will be able to access, explore, and apply the findings to shape better outcomes for young children across South Africa.
